    Process Engineering Apprentice

    FLSA STATUS: Exempt
    EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full Time
    SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 6am – 2pm
    SHIFT: 1st
    COMPENSATION: $50,000 - $52,800 annually

    Job Overview:

    The Engineering Apprentice is responsible for developing knowledge and thoroughly understanding the manufacturing process at Fastco. Upon completion of training program, successful team members will be promoted to Process Engineer. The apprenticeship program focuses on developing engineers for the cold heading manufacturing process.

    Responsibilities:

    • Complete required training in tool production and pass competency test.
    • Complete required training in tool repair and pass competency test.
    • Complete required cold heading setup training and pass competency test.
    • Complete required Process Engineer training and pass competency test: AutoCAD and SolidWorks, completing and entering change forms, Deform simulation software, completion of corrective actions, basic theory and use of CMM, and design progressions.
    • Provide training updates to Engineering Manager on a weekly basis.
    • Abide by all safety and 5S requirements in each area in which training is taking place.
    • Work on other assignments/projects as directed by the Engineering Manager.

    Requirements for Education, Experience, and Skills:

    • High School Diploma
    • Demonstrates ability to multi-task
    • Demonstrates solid modeling proficiency
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
    • Strong attention to detail skills
    • Strong mathematic skills
    • Proficient computer skills
    • Strong mechanical aptitude
    • Effective interpersonal skills for the purpose of clear communication.
    • Effective communication skills in the written and spoken English language.
    • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 35 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move 50 lbs.
    • Must be able to work on feet for prolonged periods of time while using tools and perform repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
