Fastco Industries produces a wide variety of fasteners using the cold heading process as the basic forming method. Cold headed studs, rivets, pins, bolts, SEMS washers, MAThread/MATpoint, and specials, in production quantities, have been our strength since our inception in 1970. A trusted proven supplier focused on superior quality, striving for zero defects with 100% on-time-delivery.

All Fastco cold headed fasteners are proudly “Made in the USA” in our manufacturing facilities.

Cold Headed Fastener Manufacturer for the Southwestern US

Fastco Industries, Inc. is a cold headed fastener manufacturer, supply custom parts throughout the southwestern United States. We supply fasteners to Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Utah, as well as the rest of the US and abroad.

Parts are formed by cold heading. This process involves forming a base part by redistributing steel, supplied to us in coiled wire, by use of dies and punches. Multiple station machinery make it possible to move the blank through a progression of dies, to form the desired final shape. The result is the production of complex components at relative high speeds and with very good accuracy and consistency.

Cold heading is used when the higher volume of the part justifies the expense of the tooling and development. It is also used for difficult materials such as stainless steel. When the design of the part falls within our parameters, there are typical cost savings of over 40% as compared to screw machining. The parts are typically stronger, hold better tolerances and have a consistently higher quality level indicative of a less complicated process.

    The Advantage of Cold Heading

    • The grain is not cut in the process. The grain flows through the contour of the part resulting in a stronger part compared to a cut grain.
    • High speed production – up to 200 parts per minute
    • Very accurate control of dimensions: Tolerances of ±.025mm on contained diameters and ±.125mm on most lengths.
    • Efficient use of material – very little waste
    • Wide variety of formable materials
    • No shavings or bar ends
